For one of the remaining open bids to participate in the IDBF CCWC.
Each Nation member may fill up to 5 long boat, and 2 short boat berths for each race division in the upcoming IDBF CCWC.
USDBF gives 1 long boat berth to each of the 4 regions to distribute as they deem fit. ERDBA awards their berth at ERDBA Regionals held the year before. The 5th long boat and 2 short boat berths are awarded at the US National Championships. Any berths not used, is distributed by the USDBF Club Crew National Championship (CCNC) race committee to crews they selected from those who file a petition. Information about the USDBF Berth and Petition process described below.
ALL Petitions will only be entertained if the crew is a Member in Good standing with their region.
To all: Attached is the “Round 3 and 4 Guidelines” document that has a minor revision. If you could please replace the version that you have on your website with this revised version, it would be appreciated. Unfortunately there were two paragraphs (see page 4) that were unintentionally omitted before publication. These two paragraphs were on the original petition document that was published last spring. We don’t believe that there will be any issues, but we just wanted to make sure that this document was complete. Thank you for your help. - John Miller, CCNC Co-Chair
10/26/19 - CCNC Announcement of Round 3 and 4 for Petition consideration. (Document here)
To Regional Presidents: The CCNC Committee was given the task of writing procedures for an additional round of petitions from crews that would like to attend the CCWC to be held in France next year. As a result, the CCNC Committee came up with procedures for “Round three” and “Round four” in the petition process. Attached are the procedures, which need to be distributed to all crews in your Region. As noted in the document, the CCNC Committee is relying on you to distribute this information within your Region in whatever way you see fit in order to reach all of the crews in your Region. This document will also be posted on the USDBF website and on the Facebook page of the USDBF. But, we need you to help get this information out to your crews!!
One other VERY IMPORTANT point of information: At this point your Region has awarded all of your berths. The remaining berths allotted to your Region have been returned to the USDBF to award by petition. What this means is that, should a crew decide to “withdraw” from the berth awarded to them because of their performance at Regionals (financial, not enough crew committed, etc.) their berth will return to the USDBF pool to be allotted to a crew that has petitioned for that berth. The berth will not be returned to the Region to be awarded to the 2nd place team in Regionals.
If you have any questions, please let us know. Thank you for your help in distributing this information to all of the crews in your Region.
